Happy Birthday to me!
Ok, sorry I haven't been around in a long time. I mean, its been six weeks since I posted anything, so I have probably lost my entire reader base. And, no... I am not dead or in a Chinese red prison.
I went home to the US for a few weeks at the end of January. It was fantastic to see my friends and family. Makes you really miss home alot. Anyway, in the middle of February I left the US on my backpacking trip. I flew from New York to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via London and Hong Kong. After 30 hours of plane flights I arrived in Kuala Lumpur and took an over night train to Hat Yai, Thailand. From there I caught a 5 hour bus to Krabi, made some Canadian friends, and left by boat the next day for the tropical island of Ko Phi Phi (where The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed). After an strenous week of sunning myself on the beach and scuba diving all day long I headed to Phuket where I caught a flight to Bangkok. Apparently I have a distance cousin in Bangkok... well, I phone him up and suddenly had a place to stay for the next few days. After a few days and a day trip to visit the ruins at Ayutthaya, I flew back to Kuala Lumpur (where I am now). Tomorrow I will fly to Bali, Indonesia to try and locate the Bamboo Lady (I'll tell you more about that later) and from there I will fly to Hong Kong to get my visa situated to go home to China.
Well, I know I haven't been very specific, but once I'm back in China I'll fill everyone in and post my pictures.
